Amateur Radio Field Day
June 22 2002

Field Day 2002 On June 22 and 23 members of the Tallahassee Amateur Radio Society participated, along with amateur radio operators from throughout the United States, in the annual Field Day event. The purpose of Field Day is to test the ability to communicate under disaster conditions.
Field Day 2002 The Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross has a Statement of Understanding with the Capital Area District of the American Radio Emergency Services which outlines how the two organizations will work together during Disaster Relief Operations. The Tallahassee Amateur Radio Society is part of the Capital Area District of the American Radio Emergency Services.
Field Day 2002 To support the Tallahassee Amateur Radio Society's participation in Field Day the Disaster Services Office of the Capital Area Chapter set up its Mobile Command and Control Trailer (MOCO) for the radio operators to use.
Field Day 2002 The Tallahassee Amateur Radio Society also had their Communications Van on hand throughout the event.
